Erika was first certified as a personal trainer and fitness instructor in 1999, when she was studying Athletic Training and Exercise Science. While she ultimately finished her degree in Psychology, she has remained in the fitness industry for the past 17 years.
Her extensive knowledge and background in anatomy and physiology, combined with her education in psychology and mental health, led to a specialization working one-on-one with special populations (injury rehabilitation, chronic illness or pain, emotional regulation, etc.) and helping individuals reach their health goals.
Her career has given her a respect for the healing benefits of yoga, however, it is her personal practice and recovery that has given her true passion. In 2004, Erika’s yoga practice became her own path to healing and recovery from serious illness.
Erika’s personal and professional experience have formed and shaped her philosophy that: “the body, mind and spirit are intimately united; if we have illness in one, we will have illness in all. True wellness can only come when we seek it holistically.”
In 2012 Erika moved to Haiti with her husband and they have two amazing children. She counts being a wife and a mom as her most beautiful blessings, her highest calling and her truest purpose. They are her greatest teachers.
